Saqqara Pyramid is the oldest known stone building and the first royal tomb in history, built between 2737-2717 BC. This tiered pyramid was the first known colossal building made of stone. As the name suggests, it is a series of six levels of stones that decrease in size to a
height of 62 meters (200 feet). It has a rectangular base, its dimensions are 390-350 feet.
The unique pyramid of King Djoser in the Saqqara region, which is part of the King’s Third Dynasty burial complex, is the oldest monument in the world. The pyramid was designed by the architect Imhotep, and it is a unique step pyramid consisting of 6 layers, replete with breathtaking scenes such as the blue brick stones that characterize the tomb of King Djoser and the hieroglyphs in the pyramid of Bibi I and the cat doors.
Saqqara Pyramids are easily accessible on a day trip from Cairo.
